- Nocturnal Park - Located at Fairburn, the park features kiwi, a glowworm cave and a stream with short-fin eels. Bush walks and night tours are offered
- Ninety Mile Beach - This magnificent driveable 100km (64 mile) stretch of wild ocean beach is backed by sandy dunes and scrubland, and offers superb surfcasting. Bus tours drive along the foreshore en route to Cape Reinga.
- Cape Reinga - New Zealand's northernmost point, this rugged cape and its historic lighthouse enjoy dramatic seaviews over the place where the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean converge.
- Far North Regional Museum - The region's museum contains a giant moa skeleton as well as photos and relics from the kauri industry and early shipwrecks.
